Game Drives

We recommend self-game driving in a 4x4 around the farm, which offers an abundance of wildlife viewing and sundowner spots (a map will be provided). Guests can go out on game drives in the Ol Maisor game viewing vehicle (prebook at extra cost 12,900/- per half day& subject to availability).

Sundowners

We have some great spots for enjoying a sundower after a days game drive. Acacia Dam is great for sundowners while you watch the resident hippo, and sometimes elephant and other wildlife wander in for a drink.

Sniffer Dogs

A really unusual and interesting thing to do is to visit our bloodhounds and learn about how they’re trained and the work they do on Ol Maisor and surrounding farms.

Cycling Past

We are on a popular cycling route through Laikipia and offer a great stop for cyclist - our pool is the perfect cool-down after a hot ride.

Dam Swimming

We have a number of great dams on the farm which are perfect for swimming in the heat of the day. And sitting at for sundowners in the evening.

Swimming in the Pool

The River House has its own little private pool. Perfect for hot safari days and for keeping the kids busy, giving parents time to enjoy reading or a cold cocktail/beer.

Fishing

Bring your own rods or rent one of ours (KES 1000/- per rod per day) as there are cat-fish and tilapia in a number of our dams - a great activity for kids!

SUPing in the Dam

Bring your own paddle boards and enjoy endless fun at Japper’s Dam! A great activity at 10am in the sunshine with a coffee.

Bird watching in Laikipia

Laikipia is a premier birding destination with over 350 to 400 recorded species. Its diverse landscape bridges arid northern bush and fertile highland forests, allowing desert specials like the Somali ostrich to live near colourful turacos, grassland bustards, and numerous raptors.
